WHY: With a HUGE field comprised of some of the top club basketball programs in North America, the GymRat CHALLENGE boasts an indisputable prominence and acclaim from teams, coaches, and scouting services across North America. In 2009, the Memorial Day Weekend event hosted 212 teams representing twenty-one U.S. states and two Canadian provinces covering a geographic reach from Houston, TX to Montreal, QUE, CANADA, and beyond. That field and an unwavering commitment to quality made the GymRat CHALLENGE THE LARGEST EVENT OF ITS KIND IN THE EASTERN UNITED STATES AND THE THIRD LARGEST EVENT OF ITS KIND ON THE ENTIRE NORTH AMERICAN CONTINENT. Even with this tremendous field, a waiting list of an additional 93 teams was also maintained. However, as usual, the focus continued to be on quality as well as quantity, as the GymRat CHALLENGE continued to live up to its reputation as a springboard to national prominence. Reputations are EARNED at the GymRat CHALLENGE, and with team and individual NATIONAL NOTORIETY on the line, those that perform well in this high visibility event receive an unparalleled boost in visibility and exposure heading into the restricted July LIVE period. Following the now legendary path of former GymRat CHALLENGE stand-outs, several All-GymRat CHALLENGE selections were tabbed as rising members of their classes both nationally as well as regionally in their home areas of the country. All of this, combined with a prize package that is unparalleled, makes the GymRat CHALLENGE one of the most complete and competitive stops on the summer basketball schedule.

In addition, www.GymRatCHALLENGE.com is now one of the most visited basketball sites on the web making the geographic reach of this event limitless. In the four weeks surrounding the 2009 GymRat CHALLENGE, GymRatCHALLENGE.com received over 1.1MILLION hits as the basketball community visited the site to get pre- and post-tournament news.
